First Aid & CPR Training for Schools, Camps, and Sports Coaches
In schools, safety is just as important as education. For students, educators, and coaches alike, being prepared for a health emergency is not just beneficial — it’s essential. That’s why First Aid & CPR training has become a key component for both Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs and for ensuring the safety of students during athletic activities.
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Programs & First Aid Certification
For students enrolled in the SHSM program, First Aid & CPR certification is mandatory, but it should also be fun and interesting. Ally First Aid is not only a WSIB-approved Canadian Red Cross Training Partner, but has a team of instructors experienced in training large SHSM groups in fun, interactive sessions that meet all requirements for SHSM certifications. We will keep students engaged in the learning throughout the class.
Empowering Coaches and Teachers
Our training focuses on scenarios that teachers and coaches themselves come across, whether in sports and physical activities, food-related emergencies, or mental health emergencies:
CPR and AED use in case of cardiac events
Responding to sports injuries like sprains, fractures, and concussions
Immediate care for cuts, bruises, and other common injuries
Managing allergic reactions and administering epinephrine, as well as opioid harm reduction, asthma, and other breathing emergencies
Who needs to take our course?
-
High School Students
SHSM students, particularly those pursuing careers in health, emergency services, sports, and other related fields, should be trained in First Aid and CPR.
-
Teachers
In case of emergencies, they need the skills to manage injuries, allergic reactions, or sudden medical conditions until professional help arrives.
-
Physical Education (PE) Teachers
Knowing how to perform CPR or treat injuries like sprains, fractures, and cuts is essential for ensuring student safety during sports and exercise.
-
Coaches (Sports Teams)
Sports coaches must be able to handle injuries such as sprains, concussions, fractures, heatstroke, and even cardiac events during practices and games.
-
Administrators (Principals, Vice Principals)
In case of an emergency, school administrators need to be able to assist in managing the situation, ensuring proper care, and coordinating the response.
-
Bus Drivers
Bus drivers should know First Aid and CPR to respond effectively to situations like choking, fainting, or accidents while en route.
-
Custodians and Maintenance Staff
Custodians should be prepared to help with injuries from slips, falls, or equipment accidents while waiting for medical help.
-
Volunteers
Volunteers who assist with field trips, extracurricular activities, or school events should be trained in First Aid and CPR to ensure the safety of all students, particularly in less controlled environments away from the school.
