Recertification

 

Prerequisites

To recertify your Standard First Aid (A or C), Emergency First Aid (A or C), or CPR/AED (Level C only), you must meet all three of the below prerequisites:

  • the chosen course date must be before your current card expiry date,

  • the last course you took was a full Standard First Aid course (not a one-day recertification course), and

  • your current certificate was provided by the Canadian Red Cross.

Course duration

  • CPR-A: 6.5 hours in class
    CPR-C: 8 hours in class

  • 4 hours in class

  • 3.5 hours in class (classroom-based)

    or

    2 hours online + 2.5 hours in class (blended)

    The Canadian Red Cross currently does not offer recertification courses for CPR-A.
